Fast and Furious

     I chose a movie "Fast and Furious" to talk about Gender dynamic index and Gender and sexuality tropes.
     First of all, In a film "The mask you live in" talks about how genders determine the actions and behaviors of men and women in films. Men have to be men and women have to be women in films to differentiate them and make audiences understand stories easier, however, in real life there are no such differences between men and women based on their actions, behaviors, and thoughts.
     In the movie "Fast and Furious", it represents masculinity and femininity in ways of being men and being women surrounded by a lot of men. The movie is an action movie that is about racing, and along with the topic there naturally be a lot of aggressive men and sexy women. Men in this film are always represented as masculine because men in racing field should always be represented manly strong, and women in same field are always represented feminine and sexy because of the way it should be. They are into the same field, racing, but the ways they are represented divided by gender is double standard, men should be this and women should be that.
     There are also tropes applied to "Fast and Furious". One of tropes is Affirmative Action Girl. Women in films are usually represented as passive, however, Affirmative Action Girl is a girl who takes actions like men in films. In this movie, there are two girls in the main group and they are represented as more active than passive.  And addition to that, another trope is girls around the mains are different. Even though there are many women in this film, the main two female characters are represented sexy but also strong and they have some kind of Men side represented in the film. And the third trope is, as I mentioned, Only Masculine men and Sexy women. In this film with the topic there are only(99%) masculine men and sexy women. Men wear clothes that emphasize their masculinity and women wear anything that makes them look sexy and attractive for men. Because the topic and gender rules applied to the topic, their actions and behaviors are obviously determined and represented by their gender identification.
     Gender is one of the biggest categories to divide us from another, so that there naturally be differences between men and women when represented in films because the diving could help audiences to understand more of its contents. Sometimes it is represented subtly and sometimes it is represented obviously but there could be no films that has no gender differences at all because no differences on genders might confuse audiences to understand films.
